Immediately after this, KPI was adjudged as the best AFP Affiliated Reserve Unit having satisfied the criteria on leadership, complete staff & personnel formation, discipline, troop leading procedure, and small unit tactics.

About Us
Kalayaan Philippines, Incorporated (Kalayaan or KPI for brevity), was organized and duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission under SEC Registration No. 163710 as a non-stock, non-profit civic group with the primary purpose of extending assistance to governmental as well as non-governmental organizations using the communication and human resources of the group on May 19, 1989. From then on, the KPI has been very active in various projects like traffic assistance, traffic monitoring, medical mission and others.
On Sept. 05, 1995, the KPI entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the AFP Reserve Command establishing affiliated unit within the KPI organization. From then on the KPI has been very supportive of the AFP Reserve Command projects.

To be in the forefront of the Reserve Signal Group of AFPRESCOM in rendering modern communication services as directed, and in the conduct of free civic, medical, dental treatment in the depressed areas and be responsive in the call for assistance during calamities and national emergencies
